Biographies of Las Casas PrincipalsJocelyn L. Straus, Founding Chairman, nationally recognized arts advocate, is the driving force behind the preservation and restoration of the Majestic Theatre and the Charline McCombs Empire Theatre. Her volunteer work is dedicated to the arts and to the enrichment of the San Antonio community. She is a member emeritus of the National Council on the Arts and currently serves on the National Board of River Walk, Live from the Landing, and the Advisory Boards of the San Antonio Children’s Museum and the Children’s Fine Arts Series. She is on the Executive Committee of the Texas Cultural Trust Council and the United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. Straus serves as President of the Development Board for the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, as well as many other community and state boards. She has been active in Republican politics on the local, state and national levels for many years. V.T. “Skip” Wood, Chairman, is CEO of the full service advertising, marketing and public relations agency The Wood Agency. He has served as Vice President of the Greater San Antonio Chamber of Commerce and has been on the boards of the Southwest School of Art & Craft, the Witte Museum and Texas Public Radio. He is currently a Director of the San Antonio Ad Federation and an Advisory Director of the Witte Museum. Wood has been a board member of Las Casas since 1995 and had served as Treasurer for six years and President for six years prior to being elevated to the position of Chairman of the Board. Kathryn L. Rhoads, President, is currently employed by the San Antonio Library Foundation and has served Las Casas as a Board member and Vice President. Lynn Zalcberg, Executive Director, is responsible for the administration, management and the overall development of Las Casas, the execution of all fund raising activities, special events, original programming and community outreach initiatives.
