Las Casas continues fund raising for the $1.8 million needed to finish the preservation and restoration of the Majestic Theatre. Assorted projects were deferred in 1989 due to funding shortfalls. Future restoration projects include the completion of the theatre’s upper balcony which will add approximately 375 seats to its capacity, a second theatre entrance, a new passenger elevator and new restroom facilities. Additional projects include decorative plasterwork which will bring back architectural details to the Majestic Theatre which made it so ornate and the installation of sound-proof doors which will enhance theatre performances. Restoration work will begin as funding is available.
