SAN ANTONIO (May 2, 2019) – Have you always wondered what it’s like to have your face on the $10 bill? Want to know what sparked the idea behind the first national bank, what it was like to fight alongside George Washington, or hear first-hand about the challenges faced by our country’s Founding Fathers? Ask Alexander Hamilton yourself during “Hamilton Lives: An Evening with Alexander Hamilton”, a spontaneous and unscripted presentation that brings the Founding Father to life in San Antonio on Wednesday, May 15th at 7 p.m. at Trinity University’s Stieren Theater. The event is free and open to the public. Tickets for the event may be reserved online through Eventbrite at http://bit.ly/HamiltonLivesSA.

This historical evening, presented by The Majestic Empire Foundation in partnership with the Political Science and History Departments of Trinity University, is in celebration of its 2019 Founders Gala. As seen at The Smithsonian Institution, Dr. Bidlack becomes Founding Father Alexander Hamilton, one of the most important of the Founding Fathers. While Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, it was Hamilton whose vision and spirit continue to dominate the American culture and economy today. The presentation brings Alexander Hamilton alive for the audience, providing a very real sense of the history of our nation’s founding. The portrayal captures the intellect, wit, humor, and humanity of this important historical figure, allowing audiences to be drawn into the moment and ask questions, listen to answers, and ponder the great and small questions of America’s birth.

Dedicated to the performing arts through education and scholarships and the restoration and preservation of historic theatres, The Majestic Empire Foundation offers a variety of educational initiatives to nurture and grow the performing arts, including the Las Casas Performing Arts Scholarship Program. Since its inception in 2009, the program has awarded more than $1 million in scholarship money to deserving students who excel in the performing arts. The annual Founders Gala raises funds that directly benefit the scholarship program. This year’s gala unfolds Thursday, May 16th, making the complimentary evening of “Hamilton Lives” a precursor to the gala.
